The way people move from one place to another is going to change, and this is an opportunity to join the technology project that is internationally seen as the one affecting that change in the transportation industry. MaaS Global is piloting a new revolutionary business model that helps people recover time and money from their daily commute, with observers across the world recognising our lead position. The award-winning service is called Whim, also featured in media such as The Economist, Wired and New York Times.

We are looking for Javascript developers who help us build our novel infrastructure in AWS by using the latest tech stacks, e.g. Node.js-powered Serverless, ES6/2017, AWS API Gateway/Lambda, Google Cloud, Travis CI, Machine Learning, as well as frontend technologies like ReactJS. You will be able to pick the best tools for the job and experiment with other new technologies along with it. Our stack is award winning and featured by Amazon, and as part of the team, you are encouraged to keep our stack cutting edge.

The Whim Service developer works in a multi-disciplined and multinational team, alongside our partners, helping them integrate to our service by using our open source APIs. We’re mainly looking to fill the role on permanent basis but are also open towards freelance candidates.

As a lean startup, we don’t have cookie-cutter roles, so the title and compensation are determined individually. To succeed, you will need to have the desire and experience in building cloud services, writing code as well as working in a Scrum style.

At minimum, you will need:

  • Experience with Node.js, AWS Lambda and preferably, API Gateway
  • Modern Javascript experience
  • Self-direction and willingness to learn

  • Good English (working language is English)
  • Analytics and Machine Learning experience
  • Payment systems and handling customer data

Even though MaaS Global is a young company, thanks to our leadership position as the visionaries in Mobility as a Service, we have managed to secure investments from the mobility industry, such as Transdev, and Veho, a leading car dealership in Finland. So you won’t have to live on pea soup, unless you want to, of course.

This opportunity is based in downtown Helsinki, Finland.
