The way people move from one place to another is going to change, and this is an opportunity to join the technology project that is internationally seen as the one affecting that change in the transportation industry. MaaS Global is piloting a new revolutionary business model that helps people recover time and money from their daily commute, with observers across the world recognising our lead position. The award-winning service is called Whim, widely featured in media such as The Economist, Wired and NYT.

We are looking for an experienced cloud-native developer who may also want to take on additional responsibilities in leading the development of our novel infrastructure in AWS environment, by using the latest tech, e.g. Node.js-powered Serverless, ES2017, AWS API Gateway/Lambda, Google Cloud, Travis CI, Machine Learning. You can pick the best tools for the job and experiment with new technologies along with it – keeping the stack cutting edge also in the future.

The lead developer works in a multi-disciplined and multinational team, alongside our partners, helping them integrate to our service by using our open source APIs. Being the Lead Developer means taking on tasks like sprint planning, working with external interfaces and in general, leading by example in rooting quality-focused software development practices.

As a lean startup, we don’t have cookie-cutter roles, so the compensation and actual role will be decided individually.

At minimum, you will need:

  • Experience with Node.js, AWS Lambda and preferably, API Gateway
  • Modern Javascript experience
  • Experience of taking responsibility in Scrum teams
  • Self-direction and willingness to learn
  • Good English (working language is English)

Beneficial:

  • Analytics and Machine Learning experience
  • Payment systems and handling customer data

Even though MaaS Global is a young company, thanks to our leadership position as the visionaries in Mobility as a Service, we have managed to secure investments from the mobility industry, such as Transdev, and Veho, a leading car dealership in Finland.

This opportunity is based in downtown Helsinki, Finland. We’re mainly looking to fill the role on permanent basis but are also open towards freelance candidates.

You can ignore the form below and send your CV directly to CTO Sami Pippuri at sami.pippuri@maas.fi, or call +358504876829 for more information.
